This project uses chalk excavated from the site to construct a cost-effective extension that exploits views of the countryside.

Making a clear distinction between the old and new, the proposed extension stands in contrast to the original Edwardian house, the glazed link between the two providing a new entrance hall.

The use of rammed chalk for the construction of this building provides an economical and sustainable design solution that minimises waste and provides the primary building material at zero cost.
