Shortlisted for Architects’ Journal Small Projects Award 2009

Situated within the garden of artists’ collective The Colour Factory, this project provides a workshop for the delivery of classes for the local community.

Driven by an extremely challenging construction budget, the 25m2 building has relied on a minimal use of materials to maximum effect.

The building is comprised of a timber and plywood structure clad in coloured polycarbonate panels. Apertures in the plywood provide pools of coloured light to the interior during the day, and glowing circles of colour to the exterior at night.
