Situated within the enclosed garden of artists’ collective the Colour Factory, this project emerged from the need for a workshop that could provide regular and ongoing classes to the local community.
The proposed building is a small timber structure clad in translucent, colorful polycarbonate panels that reflect the ethos of the organisation. Despite the prohibitively low budget, the low-tech building maintains charm and innovation.
Designed as a portable lightweight structure, the building can be transported on the back of a lorry in the event that the organisation moves premises.
